by the prospector inhow can the gb teach that the number 144,000 at rev 7.4 is a literal fixed number?.
they teach that the 12 tribes of 12,000 each at rev 7.5-8 are symbolic and the anointed don't have to be literal israelites.. so either all of it is literal or all of the descriptions of these numbers in rev are symbolic also?.

I Went to the KH on Saturday
by snowbird ini needed to get a picture of my daughter all dressed up in her bridesmaid gown.. she looked lovely - tastefully made up and just radiant.. i stepped across the threshold and felt ... nothing.. i saw some people from back in the day who did not recognize me, or pretended they didn't.. that was just fine.. unless my daughter opts for a kh wedding, i'm done for good.. thanks to y'all for listening.. syl.

to think i wasted 30 years at the kh, missing important social, sports events, etc, or just missing having a life, and what for?
to be taught to hate just about everyone else on the planet including oneself and how to have a really boring, dull, warped, depressed outlook on life! i thought Jesus had good news for us?
Conclusion; Stay away from any place where they make you check your brain at the door!

hi there,
i am sorry to hear that all too familiar story! my mum cut off her own parents when i was a child and i never spoke to them for the rest of their lives. my mum was following an article in the WT written by imperfect men with their own ideas, unfortunately most jw's think this trash is coming directly from GOD! like you say, your best argument are the scriptures themselves and the kindly example of our Lord Jesus. maybe you can highlight that 'God loved the world so much that........... so if God can love the 'world' while not condoning wickedness either, couldn't your in laws show mercy and at least associate normally with their son and grandson? what is to be gained by isolating one's own family and continuelly playing the judge?
